Roadrunner Car Club are supporting this event.
Saturday 11th December - Street Fair 10am - 12/1pm
Note:
Our car display will be between 10.00am and 12.00 noon in front of the Post Office whilst that section of road is closed to traffic.
PLEASE ARRIVE A LITTLE EARLIER 9.00-9.30 to allow time to park and display
As the main st will not be closed, subject to traffic, we may be able to have a parade of the cars behind the Cob And Co Coach.
Tewantin Noosa RSL is the main sponsor and organiser with Tewantin Traders Association (TTA), local businesses, shops, community groups, Tewantin Explore Centre Parkyn Hut, Tewantin Heritage & Historical Society (TH&HS) getting together to create a celebration of community and heritage and encouraging our community to join in for a free morning street fair 10am-12/1pm.
Then later afternoon the RSL Carols in the Park is on with a Heritage Carnival theme from 3pm.
In the morning hoping to create that good old fashion community get together where community groups have wares to showcase, sell or promote.
The Royal Mail has offered car park facilities for the car club to showcase cars, and there will be parking also at the PO end of street which will be closed to traffic.
Car club members are more than welcome to park cars or cruise at intervals the main street of Tewantin. I think that call could best be left to the car clubs discretion and with further discussion.
The idea is to bring together in Poinciana Ave, Royal Mail Hotel precinct, Tewantin Town Square and CWA area a heritage themed morning with displays of memorabilia, a town crier to announce where and when things are on and hand out programmes. Dotted throughout the town area there will be live music, bush poets, arts and crafts activities, free Cobb & Co coach rides, community groups with goods, activities showcasing, promoting, selling. An Aussie ‘luncheon’ with an historian discussion of 150yr proclamation story at the Royal Mail Hotel.
150years is not to be sneezed at, quite a milestone.
Please register if you will be attending.
